MewCue Privacy Policy
MewCue: Cat Reminders is a general-purpose Android reminder app published by ProEffectMedia OÜ. This policy explains how your reminders, the cat companion, advertising, consent and optional purchase are handled.
Your reminders stay on your device
Titles, optional notes, dates, times, recurrence rules, categories, completion history, snooze times and Milo's mood are stored in MewCue's private local database on your Android device. Core reminder scheduling and notifications work without an internet connection. MewCue does not provide an account or cloud sync, and ProEffectMedia does not receive your reminder text or cat state on its servers.
MewCue uses the device's time zone and local date and time to schedule reminders. Android may delay inexact alarms in power-saving conditions or under device-maker restrictions. Reminder details appear in notifications on your device; people with access to your unlocked device or notification display may see them.
Permissions and device functions
MewCue requests notification permission on Android versions that require it so you can receive alerts. You may refuse or later change this permission in Android Settings, but alerts will not appear while notifications are disabled. The app also receives reboot, time and time-zone change broadcasts to rebuild reminder schedules. It does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone or broad file storage.
Internet and network-state access are used only by the integrated advertising, consent and Google Play purchase services. The reminder engine itself is local.
Ads, consent and Google services
The free version uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display a banner in the app. Google and applicable advertising partners may process device or advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location inferred from network information, app and ad interactions, diagnostics and data needed for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Depending on region and consent choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. MewCue does not pass your reminder text to the ad SDK.
Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) requests and stores advertising consent where required. If a privacy-options entry point is required, it appears in MewCue Settings. MewCue requests ads only when UMP reports that ads may be requested. You can also manage advertising choices through Android and Google controls.
After MewCue recognizes an active Remove Ads purchase, it hides the banner and stops ad requests. Google may process advertising and consent data under its own policies and retention rules.
One-time Remove Ads purchase
Remove Ads is an optional, permanent, non-consumable one-time purchase through Google Play Billing. Google Play displays the localized price and processes payment. ProEffectMedia does not collect your full payment card information. The app receives the product identifier and purchase state to activate and restore your entitlement, and acknowledges completed purchases to Google Play. No subscription is offered.
MewCue checks current purchases when it connects to Google Play. A small local entitlement cache avoids showing ads to previously recognized purchasers while an offline or temporarily unavailable Play connection is being checked. Google Play remains the source of truth and an entitlement can be revoked after a refund or cancellation.
Retention, deletion and your choices
Reminders and history remain in the app's private database until you delete individual reminders or uninstall MewCue. Deleting a reminder removes its local record. Uninstalling the app removes local app data; Android backup of this app's private data is disabled. MewCue does not operate a server copy or a user account that could restore deleted reminders.
You may turn off notifications in Android Settings, manage advertising consent where the Privacy Choices option appears, and restore an eligible purchase through MewCue Settings. You may contact the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate or your local supervisory authority about privacy concerns.
Audience and updates
MewCue is a general productivity utility for adults and general users, and is not designed specifically for children. It does not provide medical or health advice. This version contains no ProEffectMedia analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK, reminder sync backend or user account system. If behavior changes, this policy will be updated at this URL and the date above will be revised.
